Tsinghua University Sign

How do you recreate a multilayered multilingual multi-material sign from halfway across the world? You call Fremont Laser + Design.

For Tsinghua University’s new exchange program with the University of Washington they ventured to build a recreation of part of their Beijing campus in Bellevue. Working with local furniture maker and installation house Creoworks, we were responsible for the fabrication of a feature sign.

The sign was a wall mounted layup consisting of: frosted P95 1/2” acrylic, purple vinyl, 1/2″ translucent acrylic and a VHB adhesive on the back. Due to the optical properties of acrylic, the sandwiched layer of vinyl appears to sit on top of the sign.

We look forward to more collaborations with local businesses like this in the future.

What can we make for you?
